Transitgas informs that “the heavy bad weather of the last days has provoked very strong mudflows which have partially destroyed the protective measures that Transitgas had put in place for the protection of the pipeline in the vicinity of the crossing of the Spreitlaui creek (Guttannen Municipality, BE). Due to the extension of the damages the gas transport activities on Transitgas pipeline section TRG23 can not be restored in the times originally planned.
The technical experts after having taken knowledge of the situation, along with the authorities, are evaluating more reliable and safer solutions which take into account what already happened and which allow to restore as fast as possible the gas transportation, including the possibility of making a new route for the gas pipeline.
The pipeline-reopening date will be communicated once fixed nature and size of the works.
Transitgas AG is working closely with the competent authorities and is very engaged to obtain as soon as possible from them the approval for the resumption of transport activities on pipeline section TRG23”.
